Iquitos - Amazon Jungle

The last five days we were at the jungle in the Amazon river, simply an amazing experience!!!

On arrival we met already some new "friends":

We understood each other very good, the papagallos spoke good spanish:

But no German...:

So Judith thought it would be better to feed some paiches (biggest fish in the Amazon River):

Some funny bird:

This caiman was once 8 meter long!:

The river ride on the boat was nice!:

The AAA camp! (Ayahuasca Adventure Amazon):

My first encounter with the monkeys was a very close one (I called him Juan):

And here my favorite one, the sloth (faultier, perezoso). We look alike, don't we?:

Small caimans are like small kids, so Judith get along with them pretty easy:

And after a tiring morning, some rest in the hammock:

Once recovered, welcome to the jungle!:

Sitting on an Ayahuasca root (highly hallucinogic):

Judith with a Machete, dangerous, dangerous...:

Water is sometimes not easy to find, so we had to drink out of the roots:

An unexpected guest on the way (Carlos, our guide, saved our lifes. It is a very poisonous snake):

And after a long trek, back to the hammock:

Night walk. Huge snails:

Tarantula:

Zoom the pic, it's a bat nest (inside the trunk of a huge tree!):

Hmmm, so nice sleeping inside the mosquito net!:

The owner of the place fished a Doncella, which took all of us 3 days to eat!:

Amazing butterflies everywhere:

And again on the boat!:

Judith got crazy when she fished her first fish (although it was too small...):

Let's fish some piranhas!!:

Jokes apart, Judith turned out to be the best fisher of all of us!:

Some Piranhas ready to get cooked:

It is so hot, I took a swimm in the river:

And Judith enjoyed the day:

Never saw an iguana swimming before:

At some places is way better not to swimm...:

Carlos getting ready to go back to the camp:

Nice view of the amazon coast:

That's a sunset!:

Luis cooked the piranhas for us:

Some wild life for the next day:
The lyon monkey:

Walking again in the jungle:

Another iguana, now on a tree:

The spider monkey:

I think this one is called Guati (or something...):

The squirrel monkey:

Tucan!!:

Another sloth eating from a tree:

Boa constrictor (impressive!):

The anaconda!:

Visited also the tribe of the yaguas, and taught us to shoot with the cerbatana:

Made us part of the tribe!:

The last snake!:

The main square at the village of Fatima (the closest civilization we had):

And after the wilderness, a little bit of history at the oldest city of America, the capital of the Inkas, Cuzco...
