Pucon - Araucanía Patagónica

Pucon is a lovely city in the Araucanía region in Chile, which could be called the beginning of the Patagonia, although not everybody agrees. Anyway, the landscape here is amazing. Did some treks already and I think the pictures look really good. Let's get ready for the action!!:

Typical tree from the region, la Arauca:

Posing before the Villarrica Vulcano, next day will go to the top!:

Mapuche ceremonial masks:

The sunrise rays hit the east side of the Villarrica vulcano:

Just getting started:

The sun starting to go up while we were also going up:

Yeah! Ice was everywhere:

Shadows of the fellowship of the vulcano:

We thought the summit was close, but no...:

At the beginning we thought the tools were for posing:

One of our guides (Hubert):

The sulfur coming out from the top. The most active vulcano in South America:

Ice formation during the way:

The lake Villarrica:

View of the glacier at the vulcano:

The ice formations at the glacier:

Yes, this is the top, the crater!:

And yes!! This is the Llancahue, which erupted few days ago and is still making trouble:

Another vulcano around, the Lanin:

Enjoying the view:

Panoramic views of the lake while going up:

Panoramic view from the top of Villarica vulcano of the Lanin vulcano:

Another view of the lake and national parks around Pucon:

My favorite picture. Panoramic view from the crater with the Llancahue spitting ashes on the left:

And today went to the Claro waterfall (85 meters high), nice trek and view:

There are still a couple of great places around, so probably will upload more pics soon!!
